Taylor is currently a research scientist at the University of Washington in Seattle, studying optical engineering for the noninvasive, interferometric detection of neural signals in the retina (Sabesan lab). He previously worked in a synthetic biology lab at Columbia in NYC (Danino lab), and received his B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Chinese studies from the University of Houston in 2015. He is pursuing an MA in Sustainable Design due to an interest in the design, modeling and implementation of regenerative, multi-scaled biomimetic systems. As a hobby, he is also interested in sci-art and is currently working on several projects to visually bridge molecular and cellular scales via software created by David Goodsell’s team.
