[excerpts from the short course Tools for New Ways of Leading]
The world today is navigating quickly changing conditions of increasing complexity and volatility, driven by rapid transformation in technology, globalization, population growth, the climate emergency, biodiversity loss, increasing wealth disparity, and enduring social injustices. The impacts of these challenges are experienced across our entire planet, yet most severely by the world’s least resourced populations.
Today’s challenges require specific leadership skills and tools that previously were often unappreciated or even unrecognized. More than ever, leaders around the world need to cultivate the resources of insight and empathy, of creative agility, of collaboration, and the capacity to foster shared purpose across the communities they lead.
