Jacki Solat

B.A. in English, Creative Writing | University of Colorado | 2018

Jacki is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a B.A. in English, Creative Writing as of 2018. After studying stories and working in public libraries, she realized the problems she wanted to solve were bigger than narrative puzzles. Her passion for nature and sustainability led her to seek something more tangible than literature. she enrolled in graphic design classes at a local college and immediately fell in love. Soon after, she found the MASD program through MCAD, and felt a light turn on for me.

Her love for the environment started with her wanting to change the world. What she have realized is: the world is right outside her front door. When we all work within our communities for change, we become raindrops on a pond, with ripples reaching out towards one another, creating big change together. She want to be an advocate for my community and hopes to learn from others doing the same in their own communities.

I live in Denver, Colorado with my partner and many stray cats. In my free time I enjoy skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains, reading books much too long, and waiting for my plants to grow a new leaf. Thanks for reading my bio.
